Events

At AARA Inc. we organize artistic and social events to educate the public about the culture and heritage of NL, as well as the circumpolar world. Past events have included a gala called In the Shadows of Icebergs: An Evening to Celebrate the North at the Calgary Zoo, as well as a full day’s session at the University of Calgary, called Inuit Telling Stories featuring filmmaker John Houston, and elder Annie Peterloosie. We have also hosted and organized an international circumpolar conference in Bird Cove-Pond Cove and more recently, paid tribute to one of NL’s most notable Beothuk scholars during An Evening to Honour Ralph Pastore, held at The Rocket Room in St. John’s as well as collaborate recently on a Labrador Cinema Panel, about the history of film in the Big Land, at the 34th SJIWFF.
