2015 Winners

The 47th Annual Meetings of the Canadian Archaeological Association were held at the Sheraton Hotel, in St. John’s, NL from April 29 – May 3, 2015. AARA Inc. partnered with the CAA  and Memorial University to support two research awards.

We supported the undergraduate, and graduate, research poster prize winners. Each prize was value at $250.  Kelsey Pennanen from Lakehead University was the undergraduate recipient, while Mary Lynn Tobiasz from McMaster University won the graduate poster prize.  Their poster titles were as follows:

  • The History of Archaeological Investigation on the Central Coast of British Columbia (Tobiasz)
  • Microscopic Charcoal Analysis of a Stratified Boreal Site (Pennanen and Boyd)

The awards were presented to these young scholars at a reception on May 1, at the Great Hall in Queen’s College, Memorial University.
